A Message From Eric Dunan
Dear Junior Concert Band Members:
I hope you have had a great year playing in band and that you will be coming back to play here next year.
2014 Enrolments. All members of the 2013 Junior Band should enrol for Concert Band in 2014. Concert Band rehearses on Mondays from 5-6pm.
Jazz Bands 2014. Some of you may also be interested in joining a jazz group next year. There are a few potential opportunities for this. There is a Jazz Improvisation Class that meets on Tuesdays from 5-6pm that all students are eligible for. There is also a Jazz Band that meets from 4-5pm on Tuesday that is by teacher recommendation only. Contact me directly if you are interested.
Jazz Camp. If you are age 11 or older, and you feel like you are playing your instrument pretty well, consider going to Jazz Camp over the holidays. I have been teaching at Jazz Camp for a number of years and many of the Con’s students have attended over the years. I have put a flyer on the back of this note and feel free to contact me directly for more information or questions.
Con Open Day this Saturday December 7th. Just one more reminder that the Junior Band will be performing this Saturday in the Orchestra Room at 10:15am. Please wear a black con shirt and dark bottoms and arrive 15 minutes prior to performance.
Concert. On Saturday Night, December 7th, the Jazz Orchestra, Wind Ensemble, and Wollongong Conservatorium Blues Scope String Orchestra will be performing at the Regent Theatre at 7pm. Tickets are available at the door $5 and $10.
